Bakers and Bakersalts, as we know now, exist because of our love for food and exciting recipes. And it so happens that we have a few fantastic stories of winning recipes that didn’t only charm the palates but also some hearts.
Let me share a story of one of my close friends Ellen with you.
As Ellen put it, it was the middle of summer and Ellen’s friend, John, had come over to her house for a cookout.
Ellen had been trying to get him interested in her for months now, but he wasn’t interested.
Her grandma decided to help and asked her to call him over for a cookout. Ellen instantly knew it had to be her grandma’s awe-flavoursome lime chilli salt recipe that if she could get him to try, he would be hooked.
So the salt formula was decided, lime and chilli were prepared, and prawn skewers with lime and chilli would be cooked. All of her friends were invited, and so was John.
When the time came to start cooking, Ellen put a big pot of her grandma’s chilli lime salt on the grill. But it turned out John wasn’t a big fan of lime salt.
John was hesitant to try prawn skewers at first, but after taking a bite of the salty and spicy dish, his face lit up. He thanked Ellen for introducing him to such a fantastic recipe, and long story short, soon enough, they were dating.
Ellen still remembers how nervous she was when John said he didn’t like chilli and lime salt. But, thanks to her grandma, she is now happily married to the man she loved as a teen.
If you have read the story, I am sure you want to learn about the recipe. And I am not going to disappoint you.

Alt-Text: Himalayan rock salt, lime peel, and chilli flakes air-dried from Bakersalts.
This is a Mexican-inspired citrus and chilli blend that doesn’t need anything else. Consider all of the Mexican dishes that have a citrus twist. For example, consider the pineapple-jalapeno, chilli-lime, and lemon-tequila cocktails. Hot and fresh.
With a pinch of mineral-rich Himalayan rock salt, the colour is vibrant green and red. All white meats and fish should be seasoned with this Chilli Lime salt blend.
